First Advance Therapeutics Titles Now Indexed in MEDLINE
Published 2 December 2008
Los Angeles, London, New Delhi, Singapore and Washington DC (2 December, 2008) – SAGE, the world’s fifth largest journals publisher, today announced that the first two titles from its Therapeutic Advances series have now been accepted for indexing in MEDLINE. As a result both titles will be indexed on the PubMed website.
The two journals, Therapeutic Advances in Cardiovascular Disease and Therapeutic Advances in Respiratory Disease, were launched by SAGE in September 2007. They encompass the highest quality peer-reviewed articles, reviews, and scholarly comment relating to emerging therapies in cardiovascular disease and respiratory disease respectively. By focussing only on advances in clinical therapies the journals provide a unique platform for clinicians and researchers to share strategy for the treatment of disease.
A further two titles have been launched in the series in 2008, and a further three will be launched very soon. As a whole the series now covers:
Cardiovascular disease
Respiratory disease
Gastroenterology
Neurology
Urology
Oncology
Musculoskeletal disease
Therapeutic Advances in Cardiovascular Disease and Therapeutic Advances in Respiratory Disease are already indexed in EMBASE, and the titles regularly reviewed by the Faculty of 1000 Medicine and MEDSCAPE. Indexing in MEDLINE will further help to raise the visibility of these unique titles.
“This is a critical step for the future development of the journal as well as important recognition of the work that has been completed thus far,” said Carlos Ferrario, Editor in Chief of Therapeutic Advances in Cardiovascular Disease and Professor and Director, Hypertension and Vascular Research Center at Wake Forest University School of Medicine.
“We see this as a very positive step for the series as a whole,” said Tessa Picknett, STM publisher, SAGE. “Although no decisions are expected for the other TA titles until mid 2009, we are hopeful that the quick decision reached for these first titles will be followed for the other titles.”
All previously published articles in Therapeutic Advances in Cardiovascular Disease and Therapeutic Advances in Respiratory Disease will indexed retrospectively as well as new articles going forward.
